Cinder Fall’s Bow Blades - RWBY (2016)
This was a project between myself and Anna S Cosplay, who originally started making these for Aranel Cosplay’s Cinder cosplay, but due to moving country didn’t have time to finish them off so I volunteered to do so. Anna had done a fantastic job constructing them from wood and fillerd and sanded them back so they were nice and smooth, so I was able to move straight onto installing magnets into the base of both handles with a locating pin so they lock into place when placed together to create the Bow formation. I replaced the the original foam blade panels (the brown sections) with 4mm thick textured acrylic plastic for durability and to subtly add a little more detail upon closer inspection. Once these panels were glued Into the blade I gave both blades a few light coats of grey primer spray paint before painting them, gluing on some leather binding onto the handles and the then to finish them off I weathered them both using some watered down black paint on the blades and some gold paint to add a few highlights along the edges of the brown panels.
