I'm happy to present my entry for Sparkbird's After the Ball Art contest.
From a batch of artwork I just wasn't feeling, inspiration for this piece came to me when I remembered the stack of canvases I had gotten as a gift but just never used. I really just wanted to paint Spirou. luckily the song fit. After the Ball relates in many ways to these two globe-trotting journalists from what I do know. The bellhop plummets into adventure. I was stoked when I learned there was a circus comic. . . Well, kinda. I love silhouettes and Belgian comics so this was a ball. :) I hope you like this one. Thank you Sparkbird!
