Misleading Track
Can I just say how superb Bowie Lam’s acting was when he found out that Ying Ying wasn’t his kid.. the moment where he wanted so bad to prove that he probably had some weird disease by constantly sniffing at the chemical or some stuff and at the same time tears welling up was like whoaaaa!!
Other than that, I just find Yen really poor thing.. first was being framed and going to jail for something she didn’t do, couldn’t find her son and then being framed for possessing drugs.. *serious face-palm* her life just gets from bad to worse. Oh and all those evidence collected were like going down the drain constantly.
Leo’s life was equally miserable. Having such a successful career and loving family at the start but yet losing his career for violating some professional integrity in his job and losing his wife and daughter at the same time was so devastating for him. It also shows how vicious Susan was and was able to change heart in an instant. Ugh, Raymond was just being annoying and always finding opportunities to savagely take a dig at Leo...
It was interesting to see how Leo’s character change from a person who strongly believes in justice and fairness to a person who eventually makes use of unfair procedures and tactics to achieve the evidence that he seeks. Even though it was nice and satisfying to see how he got his revenge by threatening Raymond with the bribing video for Susan to get away with her crime and even won back his rights to take care of his “daughter”. But at the same time, the moment he said, “ I just changed and became like you guys [referring to Raymond and Susan],” while arguing with Susan.. shows how scarily heartless he now is. That drastic change in him was so vicious even the look in his eyes was so heartless.
The further I watch, the more I want to grab my hair.. seriously a game of wits! It’s like a cat and mouse game where Yen continuously chasing around for evidence but yet Ben going around destroying and fabricating all the evidence to get away. I couldn’t believe how they continued with all the suspense even till like the end...
The ending was simple which I was glad that they ended this way. Finally... justice done even though Yen may not entirely agree on the process of bringing Ben to justice.
Overall, I really liked this drama. Suspenseful till the very end and a clever tactic used to always create a cliff-hanger at the end to keep me on the edge and to spend time on episodes one after another. Very little unnecessary scenes which makes it even nicer as it makes me feel like i’m not spending time watching some boring scenes. I have to applaud the cast (Louisa creating a spectacular performance yet again just like how I remember her in Phoenix Rising) which was amazing. From Bowie Lam, Louisa So, Deric Wan, Christine Ng, Savio Tsang etc.. they were all really great at delivering their characters. Definitely one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched.
