The housewife/mercenary Vanessa made her KOF debut in the Dreamcast port of ‘99 as a Striker before becoming playable in 2000. She, like Maxima and Seth, was created as an attempt by SNK to balance out the kids and (in her case) girly girls that were beginning to flood the roster at the time.
It’s unknown why the widow took up boxing as her fighting style, but it certainly suits her well...even if it does hurt her hands.
