The Streltsy Revolt (1698)
The Streltsy were a moscow regiment whom served themselves for the royal and the kingdom.
On 1698 a revolt between The Streltsy regiment and the royal of Naryashkin family happened ( Peter The Great mother's family). During the revolet, boyars and Naryashkin royals presecuted, killed,and torn into pieces.
Some stories said that this revolt was initially spreaded by a rumour whom sponsored by the Miloslavsky Family ( a famillies from Alexis Michaelovich first wife. A step mother of Peter The Great). In this cases, Ivan Miloslasvsky and Sophia, the half sister of Peter The Great, believed to be the conspirator who spreading rumour; that Naryashkin and The Boyar killed King Feodor III by poisoning and were having an ambition toward the throne. The Streltsythen as the defendant of old system, the royals, and kingdom feel betrayed and spread the anger by killing the boyars and Naryaskhin.
However, the roots of this revolt believed caused by the power contestation between the Miloslasvsky family and Narsyahkin family.
After this revolt, Peter The Great became a tsar with his half brother from Miloslavsky descendant, Ivan V. But unfortunately, Ivan V was quite ill, having a bad sight and having difficulty in speech. So later on Sophia as a sister to Ivan V and half sister of Peter The Great, choosen as a regent to the country.
