Not What I Expected || Angelina & Chris

Angelina had probably slept a little under ten hours total in the past two days; her weekend had been busier than anticipated with most of her time spent in the studio editing. The oncoming headlights in traffic were harsh on the brunette’s eyes on the way home after having spent the entire day in near total darkness. It had been dark when she arrived at the studio and the sun had already gone down by the time she left for the evening. Even the thought of spending the entire night at home by herself with no kids was painfully boring to Angie, who scrolled through the messages on her phone. Out of the blue, she decided to text Chris to see what he was doing that night. The last time they talked, it seemed like the man was feeling a bit worn down, but becoming a parent could do that to a person. After making sure that it wasn’t his night with his daughter, she suggested they meet up and she went with a place that had recently been recommended to her; it had just opened up and she knew nothing about it, but there was a first time for everything.
She stopped at home first to change into something a little more suitable for a night out versus the plain, boring outfit she had on for work the entire day. Texting Chris the address of the place, she assumed he had never been there either since he had nothing to say about it -- positive nor negative. Angelina was looking to unwinding a bit that night and if the place turned out to be lame, she figured they could just try another bar or pub. Angie took a car there but as soon as she stepped out and saw the swanky neon signs outside, she began to get a little suspicious. There were no windows on the front of the building, which should have been the first red flag. Inside, she was greeted by nearly complete darkness, barring the dim, moody lighting of the place. The music boomed so loud she could hardly hear herself think and at either corner of the huge club were large cages with dancers inside, which caught Angie’s attention before the poles near the center of the place did. Somehow, she spotted Chris who must have just arrived and all she could do was laugh. “Did you know this was a strip club when I told you the name of the place? I swear, I didn’t even plan this,” the brunette put her hands up slightly as if surrendering, still finding it funny that this was the club her assistant recommended.
