For a change, it had been her whoâd had some time to cook dinner. A lot of dinner as it turned out. She had done it on purpose, of course, so she had an excuse to keep some separate and bring it to his house later that evening, when the babysitter had arrived, and Lill had some time to herself.
So when Maggie had arrived to look after the girls, Lill had packed up her Tupperware containers with lasagna and had set out to Peterâs place. He had helped her so many times, it was her turn to return the favor. And if returning the favor meant sitting on his couch and watching bad television for a couple of hours, then she would be okay with that.
It didnât take her very long to arrive at her destination and, plastic bag with Tupperware in hand, she knocked on his door to announce her presence. She only hoped he was at home, she hadnât called him to let him know she was coming. So when the door opened, she was glad at first. Though a second glance at him made her furrow her brow, the smile slowly fading a little. âPeter, are you okay?â He didnât quite look okay.
