WITH THE INSANE AMOUNT OF bedrooms in this house, she couldn’t believe she hadn’t looked into renting one out before. Of course, Brandon had not been pleased about having to share “his” floor going forward, but he was just going to have to deal.
At the knock on the front door, she gave the living room one quick look-over to make sure the biggest mess was nowhere in sight, and headed down to open it for her potential new renter.
First impression? He was a lot taller than she had initially expected. Smiling, she took a small step back to both be able to look at him more easily and to give him space to step inside. “You must be Alaric Tre… Trevelyan? Am I saying that right?” She held out her hand. “My name is Lill…” She heard the sound of footsteps behind her on the landing and glanced over her shoulder. “And that is my brother, Brandon.”
Said brother had made an attempt at a casual lean against the wall, which was a little undermined by the fidgeting he was doing with the hem of his hoodie. To Lill, it seemed like her brother was trying to look anywhere but at their guest.
“Come on in,” she said, now completely getting out of the way and opening the door further. “You can follow Brandon.”
The younger Redding seemed to flush a little at the sudden attention on him, but pushed off the wall nonetheless. “Right, eh… Living room is here…” He mumbled, going ahead of his sister and their visitor.
