It’s just on a hiatus of sorts because real life is hard sometimes. But it will come back. There are still things that need to happen, after all! I’m just something of an rp junkie so I like to have more than one going at all times so I never hit an rp dry spell.

egosumdraco!Draco Headcanon #4

Draco gets sick much easier than he would like. When he was a child, he was sick at least once a month, with some longer stints of illness in there. He had Dragon Pox when he was seven, and it was one of the worst experiences of his life. His mother doted on him, of course, but his father never even came to check on him, and it made Draco feel weak and useless.

His immune system is better now, but he still gets really bad colds and fevers sometimes. It doesn't help that he hates sitting still, either, so he's a terrible patient.

Draco really hates sleeping alone. One of the main reasons he took up with Blaise (aside from being curious about sex and Blaise's cheekbones) was to have someone to curl up with. Of course, Blaise hadn't been one for cuddling, so Draco had gotten over it.

When he started dating Harry, he lived for the nights when Harry would fall asleep in his bed, waiting until the early hours of the morning to sneak back to Gryffindor territory. He wouldn't admit it, but being curled around that warm body made it easier to fall asleep, easier to feel like he was moving on.

Now, it's nearly impossible for him to sleep through the night if Harry's not there. He'll prowl the house instead, sleeping only when exhaustion takes over. Or bring all of the pets into the bedroom to sleep with him. Their bed just feels too big and empty without Harry in it.

Draco misses his father. As much bad blood as there was between them, and as shitty as Lucius made Draco feel over the years, he was still his father. Draco has no love for the man, really, but there was always a part of him that hoped that when the war was over, Lucius would realize what he had done to his family and feel bad for it. Draco didn't even need an apology, just a change in him and perhaps some acceptance, but Lucius' death put an end to all of that and made him feel stupid for ever thinking it would happen in the first place.

Draco is always in motion. He's restless and anxious and antsy, and being still has to be a conscious effort for him. He's forever tapping his foot or chewing on a quill or drumming his fingers against the nearest available surface, and if Harry points it out, he'll deny it. It gets even worse when there's a problem because then he tends to pace.

The only times he's ever completely still are when he's too sick or tired to move (and he hates that) or when he's highly upset (angry or sad). Then he'll go stone still and stare at whatever's closest, checking out until he's back under control.
