SURF :: night surfing one of the heaviest waves!

Just off Sydney's Botany Bay is one of the heaviest Australian waves ever surfed. Claimed and named 'OURS' by the Bra boys from neighbouring Maroubra Beach, big swell generates fast powerful waves that break directly on an open rock shelf. Only the fearless attempt to conquer the break; precision, lack of fear and luck being the only things standing between attaining the ultimate rush, or being pounded across the rocks!!

'Fighting Fear' - a soon to be released film features an all time session shot  at the notorious surf spot AT NIGHT - where from midnight to dawn, the 10 foot waves, lit by film lights, are ridden in insane conditions by local surfers Mark Mathews and Richie 'Vas' Vaculik. The boys take on what's considered to be borderline impossible, or simply insane - surfing one of the most dangerous breaks - at night!!

The documentary, shot over three years, written and directed by Macario De Souza, was released late last year, and features world champions Kelly Slater and Mick Fanning, with Australian Stephanie Gilmore and big wave rider Bruce Irons.

De Souza co-directed 'Bra Boys' - Australia's highest grossing documentary tracking the history of the Bra Boy brotherhood and the Abberton brothers, narrated by Russell Crowe.
