Everything I needed: holding hands in the sea, lying on the hot sand, singing into the space between cliffs, the way a sun-warm cherry bursts in my mouth, salt water dries in spots on my sunglasses, a perfect shell floats between us, so much blue and green

Gorgeous morning along the bay today. We even saw what we thought were sand pipers, but iNaturalist has since informed me are migratory bar-tailed godwits, escaping northern hemisphere winter. Birds get the weirdest common names, I swear. Makes plants look sensible.
