I understand if this isn't posted since the thread I'm referencing was nuked ages ago but... RE: ravenlly in the Juneteenth thread arguing it should be "shared" with TADC fans
this isn't the first time ravenlly has posted something with undertones that's made me raise my eyebrows. if anyone was around for the now-deleted BRA1NCHA1N hot-takes thread, where the argument was primarily about whether or not art is political, ravenlly used the word "uppity"
and if you don't know the connotations/history of that word- I implore you to look it up. the issue isn't ravenlly not knowing said word has major racial undertones/implications, but the fact that in that thread, when it was pointed out to them, they did not apologize but DOUBLED DOWN and told people they were being dramatic, it wasn't that serious, and it wasn't their fault anyway because they're canadian (and another canadian user came in to comment that they were in fact familiar with the word)
another interesting thing of note is that, in that thread ravenlly tried to use the reasoning that they aren't american- and in the Juneteenth/TADC thread, while they haven't explicitly done that, they have put a lot of emphasis on the fact that Juneteenth is an american holiday as a reasoning it should be shared
