Christina MacVarish bringing home brushwood or firewood at Bracora, Morar, from about 1905. Christina was born in Bracora on 19 January 1898, the youngest of five children. Christina's father was drowned when she was two, and so her mother brought up the children on the croft by herself. The photographer, MEM Donaldson was a historian who was drawn to the rural Highlands to study nature and heritage. The original image is held by the National Museum of Scotland.
