I also think that no one is fooling anyone: the numbers don't lie - there's no way this Brad guy can “fool” Duchovny. Maybe he omits a few things, inflates his ego, lies that everyone loves and wants to hear the old man sing. I doubt the tours are profitable - what this Brad can gain is to use this connection with Duchovny to profit from other things. Not to mention that it must be stressful trying to book shows that no one else, apart from 300 or so fanatical fans, wants to attend.
What kind of stress is this? Brad just counts his profits while David covers expenses and losses out of his own pocket.
David has been paying Brad for years for a musical career that everyone laughs at. I doubt David is scrupulously checking expenses, and the fact that the fans never received their paid items should have alerted David, but he didn't even find out about it. I'm sorry, but this is dirty history, and many of the affected fans, after futile attempts to contact Brad, simply stopped being fans of David.
David has no influence in the music industry, so a connection with David can't bring Brad anything.

That’s interesting and worrisome that David can say those things out loud without realizing how wrong they are and what kind of bad guy Brad is. He’ll just do whatever Brad tells him to do because he thinks he knows better. That seems dangerous to me…
