Manuela actually gets along with Olives brothers really well, she found out how to get on their good sides, because otherwise she would’ve been pranked every day by two gross boys so she’d rather not. But all she had to do was compliment Randy on his tv segment and ask Brad a couple questions about his job and she was good to go

Then Olive just glares at her (well, in her general direction) cause she just got a bucket of water spilt on her already curly hair and Manuela is fine, even though she’s only lived their a couple months-

Gardner Family when Olive was little

So this is like when Brad was 18, Randy was 15 and Olive was 7

⁃ The amount of times Guy has had to cut gum out of his kids’ hair is absolutely ridiculous. Randy was always the one who did it the most, so Brad just had a buzz cut then and Olive’s hair was already a rats nest so-

⁃ Every time Guy comes home from a long off planet mission he never tells them when he’s coming back, so he usually walks into the house to the definition of chaos (one time Randy was taped to the ceiling and little Olive was eating breadsticks while she watched Brad try to get him down)

⁃ But remember that Olive goes by Solider because Guy would call her his little soldier because she was a tough little lass, she stuck out being cared for by her idiot brothers and every time her dad came home she was always stronger than before

⁃ They basically lived on Lucky Charms and Bagel Bites, Brad was in training for the Air Force and Randy was half working on getting his football scholarship while also working a part time job at McDonalds. So Olive was home alone a lot as a kid (yes that is as dangerous as it sounds and yes the other lanterns would voluntarily watch her so that she didn’t cause a problem they’d have to fix later)

⁃ Brad gave Olive a pair of aviator sunglasses that were way too big for her at the time, but she kept them and now wears them from time to time

⁃ Since Guy was gone a lot it was just the three of them, and Olive didn’t like knowing there wasn’t an adult there so she always thought there was an intruder, so her brothers would camp out on the couch with her a lot to make her feel better

Okay so Guy totally adopts Elazar so he doesn’t have to live with his crazy ass foster mother anymore and Guy gets her arrested for child abuse and murder. Now the Gardner apartment is even more crowded but it’s hilarious because we got 1. Local single mom Guy Gardner trying to balance work and coming home in time for the football game 2. Brad being a mini Hal Jordan except make it more asshole jock than preppy jock 3. TV Star Randy who has his very own 5 minute Coast City Morning News segment 4. Resident asshole but luckily can’t see so she’s not too powerful 5. Poor Manuela having left a quiet and peaceful life in Hawaii only to live with the loudest most aggressively loving family on earth and 5. Red Waluigi

Gardner Family Rewrite:

⁃ Guy had 4 kids with a Scottish woman named Eileen Macintosh. Though they divorced and Guy moved him and the kids to Coast City when Olive was 3

⁃ She just didn’t communicate with him at all, and she got lazy and stopped trying to raise her kids. Though I’m keeping it the same where she tried to have an abortion when she was pregnant with Olive

⁃ Bradshaw and Randall are Olives older brothers, they’re 26 and 23 during season 1 (and Olives 15)

⁃ All 3 siblings only go by their nicknames (Brad, Randy, and Olive), and if they get full named they get irrationally annoyed

⁃ Brad is in the military, Air Force specifically. He’s stationed in California though, so he still lives at home

⁃ Then Randy is a pro football commentator, and is on sports news

⁃ They’re both slightly less stubborn and bull headed than Olive, but they’re also pretty similar to their dad personality wise

⁃ They all live in the same house, since Olive needs someone watching her whole Guy is gone

⁃ They all speak Scottish Gaelic, and have cool Scottish accents. They’re not so heavy where you can’t understand them, but it’s very prominent. But they still use all the slang and it’s really funny

⁃ ‘Awa’ an bile yer heid, ya bampot!’ ‘Haud yer wheesht, ya blasted idiots!’ ‘Kids can we speak English please-‘

⁃ They both call Olive ‘lassie’, which she allows since she loves her brothers. They’re also allowed to call her Olive Garden or Livvy, but lassie is their thing

⁃ They’re all super close, they’re constantly doing stuff together. When Guys home they pair up and play football in the yard, or they have sandwich eating contests for dinner. But they’re all always playfully wrestling each other, Guy will pull his sons into a headlock until they figure out how to get out of it, then they all just pick up Olive cause she’s small. To be fair they’re all small but she’s the smallest-

⁃ They were both heartbroken when they saw how going blind took such a toll on their little sister. Like, they knew it would happen one day, it was unavoidable because her condition was always getting worse, and that’s why they had Molly, but they still weren’t prepared. But they knew they had to be their for her, so they helped their dad get her back out of bed

⁃ Also another reason it took Olive so long to come out or even figure out her sexuality was because, unintentionally, her brothers and dad made her feel like she couldn’t. They just seemed like the typical close minded straight cis guys, all three of them, so Olive figured there was a high chance of them being homophobic. But once she got the courage to tell them and they all supported her %1000, she became the raging lesbian she is today-

⁃ Btw Brad and Randy LOVE Izzy, sure they made sure she wasn’t trying anything funny with their sister, but once she was cleared they welcomed her into the family, she honestly fit right in and they’re glad Olive found someone so awesome and not some douchebag

Brad is the biggest fuck boi of the family, he’s like Guy before he got his character development. He is also one of those guys who’d slap a girl on the ass then pretend it wasn’t him, he also drives past and wolf whistles at women. He’s why Olive was like that, cause he’d drive her to school and stuff and she’d pick it up

What do Brad and Randy think of Levi?

The feel bad that he never got attention at home, cause sure they had one neglectful parents but their dad was always and they had eachother and their sister, so they feel bad for him. But like Olive they welcome him into the family with open arms

Has Hal ever gotten real smug with Guy Brad became a pilot? Because I imagine he would.

Same way that Oliver teased Guy about naming Olive after him, which isn’t correct but Oliver says it is just to annoy Guy

Honestly I feel like if they ever get the chance, then everyone will make fun of or act smug around Guy
