Trinkets Season 2 Review - Spoilers

The Final Season of Netflix Trinkets was just released, and I watched it. My complaints in the storytelling from Season 1 the writers addressed in the Final Series. You can see those by clicking here. Here are my thoughts, so spoilers listed below:

Last season the show was very much inconsistent with its storytelling. Season Two was a little bit better with the pace.

Picking up two days after Elodie left with Sabine, you assumed the cops are questioning the girls about Brady's car, but it’s more of “Where in the world is Elodie? As I said in my previous Season One review, the Brady car scene was not a required arc for this story, mostly since he bluff and told the cops he sank his car. We meet Moe's family, including her brother that is part of her story arc. We have a clear idea that Luca and Sabine are dating minors. Brady is still an asshole and shoplifting is actually discussed.

Here’s what I really loved about the Final Season.

The missing character is actually in this season, "shoplifting." It was fascinating to see how Elodie and Tabitha's see shoplifting as not just a game but an art—watching how life triggers their actions and their battle of even trying to stop.

In regards to the friendship, it was nice to see the Trio's friendship grow; however, the chemistry between Elodie and Tabitha seem more organic and real than anything with Moe. Where Elodie and Tabitha were making strides to actually stop shoplifting or grow it seem Moe was the destruction of their development in more ways than one and unapologetic that her actions were having her friends backside.

I loved that Elodie removed herself from a toxic relationship from Sabine. She knew she wanted a girlfriend and not an entanglement. I like how the writers showcase Elodie's actions towards Sabine cost her something with Jillian. The real talk from Tabitha on how Elodie should be honest, etc. Bravo. You can see how Elodie and Tabitha's story arcs mimic each other, and a stronger bond between these two was lovely to see. The only problem that I have with Elodie's story is when she returns the items she stolen, no one calls the cops on her, and she walks out of the store.... yeah that sounds about white.

Tabitha's story arc was done very impressive, and it's something very different. Tabitha learned how she falls for shitty guys, and even though Luca did not physically abuse her, he was just like Brady with his manipulation and abusive towards her. I love how she learns how to be comfortable in her skin. Changing your hair is a powerful thing, but her former friends' microaggression and why Tabitha changed I wish had more of a story arc then it did. Also, it was clear that she did not need anyone to save her. I wish Moe had pay attention, and she might not have stepped into this savior mode that was not required. I liked her with Ben and hoped when Tabitha has healed, they can reconnect again. Bonus Points: Finding her voice this season.

Out of the three, Moe’s is not my favorite character, and I might be the minority here. Because of Moe, the girls continue to get into unnecessary trouble. From taking Brady’s car to stealing the test, almost getting caught stealing the dress, and the list goes on. She’s doing the most and is the reason why the girls do backside. I have said it before Noah is too good for Moe. So many things could have been resolved if she had just communicated to him; instead, she allows Brady to blackmail her. Listen to anyone who is reading this. If someone wants to blackmail you into doing anything, call their bluff or tell it.

Bonus points would have been seeing a 10 Things I Hated about You reunion with Larisa Oleynik and Andrew Keegan on our screen.

Brady Finch Discussion (Trinkets)

Am i the only one who feels bad for Brady? Like yes I know he was manipulative, abusive and a shitty person, but at the end of season 2 when he got exposed, he looked very regretful about his past decisions. i havent fully watched it yet, but there can be shit going on in his life, such as an abusive father. All i’m saying is that i feel bad for Brady and i think that he should have gotton help from a therapist

IMAGINE: BRADY ASKING YOU OUT TO TRY AND MAKE TABITHA JEALOUS, AND MOE, YOUR GIRLFRIEND, THREATENING TO PUNCH HIM.

Moe frowns as she sees Brady approaching you in the parking lot. She can feel her hands ball into fists as she immediately marches over, catching the end of your conversation as she hears Brady ask, “So, what do you say, y/n? Wanna go out with me tonight?”

You wrinkle your nose. “Fuck off, Brady. I know you’re just asking me because Tabitha and I are friends, and you want to get back at her or something.”

Before Brady can respond, Moe calls out, “Yo, Brady, what are you doing with my girlfriend?”

Brady blinks in response, clearly unaware about you and Moe being together, and before he can say something no doubt disgusting, Moe pulls you closer to her and threaten him, “You better get out of here before I punch you. And don’t ever come close to y/n again.”
