whenever I’m traveling, I always want to write udobure (owain/brady) but I never do because I’m so busy doing the traveling part, lol. So in exchange here are some hcs:

they are the most touchy-feely couple. It’s not even a conscious decision; they’re just always holding hands, whether it be after a battle or around the campfire or brady is crying and owain is giving some speech. usually it’s holding hands, but if they can’t for some reason, they’re standing close to each other and touching some other way

owain takes to always carrying around handkerchiefs for brady bc he cries so often, as well as allergy medication and other miscellaneous items

brady always chides owain whenever owain gets hurt, especially after battle, but he always does this while crying and fusses a lot over owain too

he acts like owain is the one always hurt but it’s more like when owain is hurt, he’s hurt badly, and that makes brady very distraught. in reality, it’s brady who sprains his ankle or catches a fever ever other day. owain watches over him then

brady canonically told stories about owain’s exploits to children in the bad timeline to cheer the kids up. that’s not a hc, that’s just cute

owain convinces brady to give a lot of things a try that brady normally would not do on his own/feels encouraged to do only because owain is with him. on the flipside, brady reels owain back down to earth and keeps owain from acting out/doing dangerous things

please see that scene at the end of the future past dlc where owain is going to sacrifice himself (and probably die) to make sure brady, yarne, and inigo get across the bridge and the only reason he doesn’t is because inigo refuses to let him. brady and yarne get stranded on the safer side of the bridge, and after the battle is over owain promises brady he’ll never do anything like that again bc brady is so distraught. (granted so is everyone else, but Still)

generally brady is the little spoon but there have been occasions where owain is the smaller spoon instead

keep in mind brady is tall even with his slouch and owain (in my hc) is not

speaking of which, brady canonically slouches to look old ladies and children in the eye when they speak. the hc part is that owain helps him do stretches so he doesn’t hurt his back from slouching so much

for owain’s birthday one year brady composes a song on his violin like owain is always bugging him to do but this time he dedicates it to owain and calls it owain’s theme song. owain gushes about it for 30 straight minutes afterwards

in a modern au owain gets his license first and he’s the one to drive brady everywhere

i’ll be traveling all tomorrow and have been trying to write one last fic for the past two days since i may not write for a bit with school starting, but i just couldn’t write anything. with that in mind, here are some cute brady/owain hcs to make up for that:

pre-time travel brady and owain share a tent because nobody else wanted to room with them/they’re familiar enough with each other that it’s comfortable. some nights owain keeps brady up by burning a candle to write in his journal and brady is kept awake not by the light but getting mad that owain is straining his eyes by writing with how dim it is.

sometimes brady is kept awake by his own thoughts and stressing out about how the world is practically crumbling beneath their feet and all the people they’ve lost and how he can’t fight and he works himself up over it all. sometimes his crying wakes owain up but rather than make long speeches at 2am, owain more often very tiredly scoots closer and wraps himself around brady until he feels better and then they both sleep like that

at owain’s behest, just like in the harvest scramble dlc, brady sometimes plays his violin. it’s easy to go weeks without practicing but after long enough passes, whether because he wants music to “fit the atmosphere” or he just knows brady should practice, he asks brady to play and brady eventually gives in

owain loves surprising brady with kisses on the back of his hand or his cheek and stuff and brady always gets really flustered

but when brady surprises owain in turn, it’s owain who is then really flustered

brady canonically (via the drama cds) tells stories of owain’s heroics to kids to make them feel better. please think about that

post-time travel, when brady and owain see each other for the first time again, owain does tackle brady to the ground.

brady maybe breaks something but he’s so happy to see owain again he doesn’t mind very much

"So you want to tell me what's really bothering you?" Owain asked.

"Nothin'," Brady said again. The dark cloud hanging overhead were thickening, and he focused on that. "I just don't like this time travel malarkey."

Owain put a hand on his shoulder. His skin felt very warm, and despite himself Brady felt himself relax under the touch.

"How come?" Owain asked.

Brady scowled. He wished he hadn’t put his violin down so he could have something to do with his hands now, but picking it up again would have just looked foolish. Of course Owain wouldn't understand his worry. Owain loved fantastical magic and adventures. The thought that leaping through actual time and space was a bad idea would never cross his mind.
