Suspect is most certainly a rooster. I guess one mistake out of 20 birds isn't bad for a hatchery. This means, unfortunately, he needs a new home. He's a brahma and much too large for some of my ladies (of course the ones he prefers). Anyone have advice on rehoming roosters?

If you’ve never heard of a Brahma chicken before (I hadn’t), then you may not know that they are gargantuan birds. They are so big, in fact, they are actually considered the kings of the chickens.

Developed in the U.S. from chickens imported from Shanghai, the average weight of a Brahma hen is around 10 pounds, and a rooster, between 12 and 18 pounds!

And quite possibly the world’s largest Brahma…
