MDZS characters and their brain cells (and impulse control)
(Based on The Untamed since I only just started reading the novel) (Also based on Scientific Facts™) Yanli - needs to be on top since she has an abundance of brain cells and also the best brain cell to impulse control to social skills ratio. Also mastered the art Holding On To Another Person’s Brain Cells For Safekeeping at a very young age.
Wei Wuxian - quite some brain cells but was born without impulse control. Yanli gave him some of hers but when she died he lost it all. Later, he gets a bit from LWJ but it doesn’t work as good.
Lan Wangji - one of the highest brain cell counts in the show and almost too much impulse control. Both malfunction frequently around WWX due to Gay Panic.
Jiang Cheng - only a few less brain cells than WWX but with zero impulse control as well. Also, Yanli had to hold on to them most of the time lest he lose them all. When she died they scattered all over the world and he’s been picking them up one by one over the years. Most of them get snatched by Jin Ling (and shared among the juniors). Has no one to give him any impulse control.
Lan Xichen - about as many brain cells as LWJ. Sometimes doesn’t use them to not attract drama. Drama still comes.
Nie Huaisang - he does have some brain cells but is too scared to use them. When Nie Mingjue dies he inherits some of his but doesn’t use them very well.
Jin Guangyao - not many brain cells but gathers up those people around him drop and combines them into a very unholy combination that can’t be used for good thinking.
Wen Ning - never learned to use his brain cells, first because of Wen Qing keeping them for him and later due to being a chained-up murder puppet. Starts to learn how to use them from Lan Sizhui.
Lan Sizhui - almost on par with Yanli but much less experienced in using them.
Xue Yang - one brain cell he exclusively uses to make other people’s lifes miserable.
Jin Ling - inherited some from his father and mother but firmly ignores them in favor of his uncle’s. Might even have impulse control buried deep within him but it’s too scared of Jiang Cheng to come out.
