I read a Discworld novel last night (Guards! Guards!, if anyone's wondering). It wasn't my first one, (my first one was Raising Steam, which I don't think was the best place to start), but I think it's the first one I really got.

I turned the last page, and I stared up at the ceiling for a little while, and contemplated my life choices. Then I went about the rest of my day.

I woke up this morning, and sat down for breakfast. Packed my backpack, as I do.

It was then that the "woah" moment hit me.

I really just read that

He really just... Wrote that. Did that. Imagined that.

WOAH

And now I'm sitting in chemistry class not paying any attention, because my brain is stuck in Ankh-Morpork, and I don't know how to cope with a book that good. (Not that I'm usually paying attention, but usually my brain is at least on Earth).

Every few minutes I think back on the book and chills run down my spine, and I blink, and grin, and hope no one is watching. Every few minutes I think back to a different line, and am amazed by all the ways the book moved me. All the emotions it made me feel.
