Also, this is a super duper rough draft just getting the gist of this scene and I am not super chuffed about it but it's just the basic idea.
"X, c'mon man, you really don't need to see that." Cub sounded concerned as he gently tried to pry the phone from Xisuma's hands. "Can you three just leave it fucking alone?" Xisuma spat out. The other three all froze with wide eyes, all of them taken aback at Xisuma's sudden venom. "You all were there! You all saw him! You all got to see him before he went in and I can't and, and now -" Xisuma's voice became choked as everything felt like it wanted to come out. The stress, the anger, the fear, the tears, the bile, all of it gurgled to the surface and a sob fought its way to the forefront. Cub let go of the phone and his hands slipped around Xisuma's head, pulling him to his chest and cradling it softly. Tears slipped their way down his cheeks and into Cub's shirt. "You all saw him all bloody and throwing up and crying. Wels doesn't cry! And now I hear he was looking for me after and I wasn't even there." "But that's not your fault, Suma," Ren murmured, voice so low and sad. "You got there as fast as you could when Scar called. It just all happened so fast." "I know," X cried, pressing his face harder against Cub's side and gripping his shirt with white knuckles. "I know but you three saw. You all had to see how horrible it was and I didn't. Everyone else got to see it and now there's clips of it online." The idea made bile burn at the back of his throat, the idea that clips of his best friend laying sprawled out and spitting blood and weeping were being replayed by someone else's entertainment. Maybe for Hels. "I have to see for myself, I have to see it so I know what things Wels will eventually see when he wakes up." Xisuma looked up to his friends through the tears in his vision, the three of them all looking back just the same. "Please."

Super duper rough draft since I'm just trying to get a gist of this scene. I swear it won't be this rough after editing lol.
'Stop, please stop.' Wels thought. 'You shouldn't be telling me any of this.' But Etho continued on as if interpreting the other man's silence for permission, or maybe it was his nerves rearing up and making him feel as if he had to fill the quiet air between them. "I was in and out of it for days cause of the meds. Bdubs said them having to wire my jaw was pretty freaky but my whole eye thing probably was the grossest in his opinion. The older man's rambling came to a stop as he must have looked back to see Wels no longer by his side, his footsteps growing in volume as he circled back and rushed to Wels. "Wels?" Wels pressed the palms of his hands more firmly into his eyes, the pressure behind his lids feeling almost like a dam. "Why -" he choked out, swallowing thickly. "Would you tell me that? I don't - we don't know one another like that, why would you - you don't owe me that." He heard Etho sigh before a hand pressed lightly against his shoulder, squeezing softly despite the flinch. "I know that. I did it cause I wanted to." Wels could feel Etho lean forward slightly, the other man's hair tickling his cheek as he gave Wels' shoulder another squeeze. "I said it cause I get it if your hand thing is like my eye thing. Like I really get it man." 'No. I don't think you do.'

they call me the information withholder for reasons i won't get into
i think people really under sell the physical side effects of mental health disorders sometimes. like sure the depression and anxiety may be 'just in your head' but when what's in your head happens to disrupts your sleep schedule and prevent you from going outside regularly and eating consistent meals and exercising and generally taking care of your body. well it sure takes its toll huh.
when the setting/location in a story is also a character in itself
getting characters into world-endingly intense codependent queerplatonic relationships is literally what life is all about. it is literally what we were put here on this earth to do
Looking at any youtube comment on another Hermits vid and seeing anyone ever mention Wels in a comment always sets me on edge like an on guard dog before I even read it fully because people are either 1. Extremely nice and are genuinely thrilled to have seen Wels make an appearance to which I relax and thumbsup their comment or 2. They're complaining about his upload schedule and saying they wish he would quit Hermitcraft bc he's clearly not committed. It's always crazy to me too those same people in the latter category always admit they never even watched him in the first place aside from a video or two so it doesn't even affect them but they still get mad and say he's using mental health as an excuse. The thing that makes it hard to be alive and stuff makes it hard for him to do things and be alive, what a shocker. It's just like shut the fuck up oh my goddd. I need to throw rocks at ppl.
Thought again about the guys who also were on XB's case and said "I think you haven't found your voice/confidence though... You have immense potential but watch this back especially compared to your peers and tell me you can't do better." Like brother who do you think you are??
XB getting shat on bc he likes to talk people through his build and do environmental storytelling and chat as if the watchers are in the room with him rather than him script a fake as fuck persona and dialogue and being told he doesn't ever actually show he has a personality 🤝 Wels getting shat on because he has disabilities that through time are starting to disable him more and make it harder for him to do his job of making content ppl can watch for free so they get mad as if he's withholding a service they paid for rather than a free service.
