Plot: Lor discovers that Thompson and Tish have something in common, as they're both really smart. This leads her to think that Tish is after Thompson, so she acts smart to try and impress him. Trivia: While working on the show, creator Doug Langdale was reading one of Howard Gardner's books about his theory of multiple intelligences. His books were very popular at the time, because they opened up the possibilities for what educational TV could be. Since then cartoon writers decided to play to emotional issues and pro-social messages without merely teaching facts.
