Thoughts on the tragic Gabby Petito story
The couple captured the hearts of many on social media with their cross country trip video clips. It appeared they were just a couple of young adults having a lifetime of fun. Then a video surfaced of a crying Gabby Petito after her fiance, Brian Laundrie allegedly assaulted her. A few weeks after the video, Petito was found dead. Laundrie returned to his parents home alone without Petito and suddenly disappeared. His parents are not being cooperative. What in the world is going on? This is a classic murder mystery with so many questions left unanswered.
The first obvious question that I have is why did one or both of them not end up in custody after the video showing police questioning a sobbing Petito? The officers who questioned the couple should have seen the evidence by the physical marks on their bodies. I would definitely think that any trained officer should have seen the warning signs along with the fact that they were traveling together. Of course it is certainly easy to say that after the fact, but bringing someone into to custody could have prevented a homicide.
Laundrie came back to his parents house without Petito. Why are his parents tight lipped and not talking to invesigators. They must have some info on Lundrie, the most wanted man in America now. I would find it hard to believe that they have not had any connection with him at all. In my opinion, Laundrie's parents hold a crucial key in finding him.
Is Laundrie even alive? The man has been missing for almost a month. I would not be surprised if they found his body. However, it would be crucial to find him alive so he can answer so many of these questions.
It has been reported that this couple had a very toxic relationship in the first place. To what extent was this toxic relationship and if Laundrie is indeed an abusive man, why would Petito want to go on a trip with him for that long? Wouldn't her or his parents be concerned about a trip that long knowing they had a toxic relationship?
Domestic abuse is a serious thing in this country. Every year, thousands of women, like Petito lose their lives. And many times, the warning signs ate missed. It appears this is sadly another example.
Stayed tuned, this mystery is about to get more interesting. It is the crime mystery of the century.
