Phew, finally! God, these drawings were difficult.
I actually started trying to draw these about nine months ago, but my skills weren’t good enough to produce something I was satisfied with. I even had to remake the first one with Cher three times :'з
As for the piece with Raziel, my dude summons some pretty adorable demons, but don’t be fooled by their looks! These monsters don’t attack with teeth and claws, no, they literally just smash into enemies with their bodies! They grind their foes down to dust since their scaly skin acts like sandpaper... and trust me, you don’t want to know what happens to the armor; I’m pretty sure there’s not much left after that. Same goes for its wearer.
Working with light on this piece was incredibly challenging, and honestly, I don’t think I nailed it. But for now, this is the best I can do with my current drawing skills :'3

I feel like their characters are consistent enough between book and movie that they only have the one set.
Tremblay: Marguerite, a bluejay, to represent his opportunism scheming intelligence, and assholery. named after st. Marguerite Bourgeoys, one of the Fondateurs of the Canadian Catholic church. Vanity is a big aspect of Book! Tremblay, and they would definitley make the most of her flashiness and beauty, maybe even to make others underestimate them. everyone forgets blue jays are corvids just like crows or ravens. They have an uneasy sort of toxic relationship, but pretend to be affectionate in public. He really wanted her to settle as something more charismatic and large and still resents her, and she constantly needles him about not being all he could be either, pushing his ambition. They make jokes about a blue jay being a perfect match for a cardinal all the time, Thomas is sick of them.
Adeyemi: Adeola, a canary. His amazing voice is one of his main traits, so I wanted to give him a daemon also known for its voice. Canaries are also a kind of warning sign, and sound (arguing with Shanumi in private and public) is what tips Lawrence off that something is wrong, resulting in Adeyemi's downfall. Adeola means The Crown of Wealth/Honor in Yoruba, to match with "Adeyemi" which means the crown/royalty befits me (names that complete each other or are formed around the same root word would be another fun daemon naming convention). They have a caring but somewhat tense relationship (he thinks of her as a representation of his weaknesses and sins). She doesn't speak in public, and the only line she would have in the movie/book is when Adeyemi has his breakdown, she would ask Thomas to pray with them.
Tedesco: a goat named Juno. To represent his cleverness, stubbornness, and "peasant" background/personality, sometimes the book described him as a butcher or farmer, so a livestock animal seemed fitting. I also considered a boar/pig, but I liked the look of a goat more. I imagine Roman/latin names is also a daemon naming convention in Italy, and I like the added hypocrisy of him raging against "heathen religions" while his daemon is named after a Roman goddess. They have a rock solid relationship, she finishes his vapes, they always take up a lot of space at events because she's either sitting next to him or in his lap. if someone makes a joke about goats and Satan, they trigger an unskippable two-handed rant about goat symbolism. She talks to other daemons quite a bit, but not people because that's probably against some church tradition. is very over familiar with Lawrences' daemon, and takes bites at Bellini's.
