Okay. So when it comes to titles of episodes (especially in a character-driven TV show) thereâs often multiple meanings or definitions for what the title is referring to.
I do think âLa Chica o El Mundo (The Girl Or The Worldâ could definitely be a question asked by Manousos to Carol when he meets her and sees her living with Zosia.
But I also think it could mean something specific to Zosia too. As in she has to identify on whether sheâs âThe Girlâ or âThe Worldâ. Her own individual as the human she was or The Hive. Part of their community because whether itâs a tactic of Charm Offensive or not, sheâs starting to have moments where she appears to be an individual and have autonomy so I feel like the title of the final episode of Season 1 has got to refer to her and her arc too. Perhaps sheâs very conflicted too and that will make for a very interesting dynamic with both Carol and Manousos as well as the other survivors.
But I donât think theyâd pack too much in and have too many characters interacting because it will be cramped and the storytelling might not come across as well as it could if it is just the 3 (+The Hive because they come as part and parcel with Zosia) of them interacting within it.
But generally episode titles are multi-dimensional to go along with the storyline themes. I very much doubt the meaning or definition of it is just the questions asked of Carol by Manousos. It would be a weak season finale if thatâs all the title of the episode is referring to and the creator of the show doesnât do weak thematic stories. When it comes to Vince Gilligan and the way he writes/directs/produces, every single detail has a significance.
I think the title will refer to and reflect on Carol and Zosia both as individual characters as well as a duo.
I think it would make the most sense that it will do that for the finale because thatâs what we most care about.
Where is this new connection between them heading? Is it genuine or are they both on the Charm Offensive? And what does it mean now there is a new player here?
