because everything is bogus and nothing is boring. Hi there, you can call me Eris. She/her Millennial from Massachusetts. This blog is pointless, like giving caviar to an elephant. It is mostly reblogged content with occasional entries of my own. If you like fanfiction, click here to visit my profile on Archive of Our Own.
look i WISH more horror movies were just the directors thinly disguised fetish. instead we got all these horror movies that are just undisguised reflections of culturally hegemonic values and anxieties. like if we got some weird fetishes up in here it would probably add some variety thats all im saying.
Having seen some births now i can say that dog birth is amazing cos they just slip n slide out one after the other like a little conveyor belt. And theyre so little and unformed. And then UNGULATE BIRTHS ... are amazing for the opposite reason which is that 10mins after being born they are filing their taxes. Unless they are goats, in which case they are committing tax fraud instead
Goats are what is called a precocial species, which means that shortly after birth they are able to do many thimgs on their own, such as standing, walking, eating, and embezzlement
Things that I knew about: that the mass incarceration of people in the USA , particularly black men, has direct ties to/is an extension of slavery.
Things I did not know: this specific shit about Louisiana HOLY FUCK this is evil.
I’m from Mississippi and it’s like this in my home town. Enslaved prisoners clean roadways, pick cotton, everything they’ve done since before slavery was supposedly ended. What they teach in schools is nothing but propaganda.
AO3 has recently seen a wave of comments claiming to be made by the "AO3 Trust & Safety team", notifying you that your account has been restricted. These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers and your account has not been restricted.
AO3 volunteers, including the Policy & Abuse committee, will never communicate with you through comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
We suggest that you review your account to verify that you're using a unique and secure password. Check out the advice from our Policy & Abuse committee on Protecting Your AO3 Account and Keeping Your Account Secure.
If you believe your AO3 account has been compromised for any reason (i.e. you received an email that your username changed), you can change or reset your password to ensure control of your account. Changing your password will automatically log you out of all sessions on all devices. You can find the option to change your password in your Preferences.
If you encounter one of these comments on your own work or someone else's, please report them to the Policy & Abuse committee. To do so:
Select the "Thread" button on the scammer's comment. This will take you to the specific comment page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Policy Questions & Abuse Reports.
In the "Brief summary of Terms of Service violation" field, enter "Spambot".
In the "Description of the content you are reporting" field, enter "This is a spambot, their username is USERNAME."
Reporting in this fashion helps us auto-sort your report so that it can be handled as soon as a Policy & Abuse volunteer is available. To help us address reports about these types of bots as fast as possible, please only submit one report per account, and don't include multiple accounts in the same report.
We also encourage you to share this post and help spread the word about how to protect yourself from scammers and reduce spam on AO3.
For more information about spambots on AO3, you can review our News Post on the topic.
I love how the crackfics I write at 41 are so different from the ones I wrote at 14, but only insofar that I address adult issues like mental illness and feeling lost and finding the strength to battle fucked up shit that gets in your way. That's my Umbrella Academy fanfic right there. My Thunderbolts fanfic has the exact same themes, but is much more poorly written. But I'd still say better-written than the crossovers I wrote as a kid.
A crackfic shouldn't have an intricate plot, but fandom crossovers only make sense to me if they're explained.
Oh man, this is wild shit. I'm 'shipping the author-insert with Bob, I'm thinking of having Bucky meet Regina. I was gonna have characters just fuck around, but I think the dragon from the first chapter needs to be the Big Bad.
I'm what's wrong with AO3 and why there are so many abandoned fanfics. We just make random shit up until there are 50 chapters.
Sebastian Stan on playing Bucky Barnes in Thunderbolts.
"I love when they allow me to play a little bit of the duality. That‘s what I love about Bucky. I love that even though he‘s come a long way, he‘s still carrying his whole life experience with him. He‘s not a totally different person. He‘s always going to have those things that made him who he is, good and bad, and it gives a different flavor to the choices that you make as an actor.
And this, it feels like this is a very similar group. They could all go both ways. They‘re running away from the thing that scares them. They are running away from themselves. They are running away from the pain they didn‘t deal with, the guilt that they‘ve accumulated, from being out in the world and doing terrible things."
