I’m lurking on tumblr again so here’s my ask:
17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.
Hey, thanks! And welcome back!
Apart from the fifth and final story of my canon divergence series, which will wrap up all the lingering plot points and story arcs, I do have two fics in the planning stages.
The first will be a OUAT at Hogwarts fic. In that fic, David and Emma are adopted siblings (Emma was adopted by David’s parents as a little girl) and they are both accepted to Hogwarts on the same day. That story will most likely be a slice of life story, as I haven’t really came up with a plot bigger than that. At this point, all I really know is that David will be muggle born, but Emma’s biological parents (who we’ll never actually meet) were a witch and wizard. However, I have more or less figured out everyone’s house placement and wand. You can read up on that here. (Of course, I’m now trying to decide if I should have Belle’s wand be rosewood instead of sycamore.) I can also say that other magical schools will be mentioned. Emma ends up becoming pen-friends with Elsa, who attends Durmstrang with Anna. Also, Mulan is mentioned in passing as Merida’s pen-friend from Mahoutokoro. (Sadly, JK never came up with a wizarding school in China, so I guess I’ll have to put Mulan in the Japanese school, unless someone can give me a better suggestion.) And Belle was previously enrolled at Beauxbatons, but transfers to Hogwarts. (Still trying to figure out the reasons for the transfer.)
The second fic I’m planning will be a non-curse AU, with a few tweaks to the timeline. (For instance, Killian was born around the same time as Emma instead of centuries earlier). In this one, Emma is given the royal upbringing she was meant to have. Throughout her childhood, she had two best friends: Killian and a street urchin named Bae, whom Emma’s parents had taken in to be a kitchen boy. However, when the three friends are nearing adulthood, the castle is visited by a widely feared dark wizard (three guesses who this is), who announces he will bring an end to everything King David and Queen Snow have worked for, unless Princess Emma agrees to marry his son- the very same ‘waif’ the royal family had taken in years ago. For the sake of the kingdom, Emma agrees to the terms, but this decision devastates Killian, who secretly harbors feelings for Emma. Unable to stay and watch Emma marry someone else, Killian elects to leave the Enchanted Forest and join his brother, Liam, in an expedition to chart out new lands. After a few years go by, Killian and Liam are still on their extended mission, but when they are in port for ship repairs and supplies, Killian inadvertently leans of the true, sinister reasons why Dark Wizard Rumpelstiltskin wanted to ensure the marriage between Emma and Bae, and that everyone back in the Enchanted Forest is in mortal danger. To put a stop to the evil plan, Killian must find a way to sneak back into the Enchanted Forest to warn everyone. Of course, this task is easier said than done, as Rumpelstiltskin, knowing that Killian had figured out the truth, has managed to convince the whole kingdom that Killian is a traitor to the realm.
