A 37-year-old #Branchville man went missing around 11:30 a.m. Friday. His friends and family haven’t heard from him since #HiramEugeneJohnson “voluntarily got into the rear seat of a vehicle with subjects he was familiar with and the vehicle left at a high rate of speed,” Branchville Police Chief Randy Clark said. Johnson is a black male who is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds, has a low faded haircut and has a long scar on the back of his head with a tattoo below, according to Kenyatta Washington, one of his sisters. She said her brother is prone to having seizures and is without his medication. Johnson was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, she said. She said her brother went missing from his home on Hardwick Street. Clark said Johnson’s disappearance is being treated a missing persons case at this time. The S.C. Law Enforcement Division is investigating the case, #SLED spokesman Thom Berry said. “We have agents actively working the case,” Berry said. “While our work is underway, it would be inappropriate to discuss specific details at this time.” Clark said Johnson was seen entering a black Ford midsized sedan with black rims and dark tinted windows. On Tuesday morning, Washington and others were searching a wooded area along S.C. Highway 210 where witnesses may have seen a vehicle matching the description of the one Johnson entered on Friday. Aieral Pitts, another of Johnson’s sisters, said that it’s very unlike her brother to not make contact with his family. She said he operates a car wash business in Branchville and both of his personal vehicles are still in his yard. Her brother doesn’t have any children, but he adores his dogs and takes good care of them as though they were members of his family. “He’s not going to go without taking care of his dogs,” she said. But he has not returned to care for his dogs. A family member is tending to Johnson’s dogs.
