Every layer I read into the FIFA vs NJT situation is another level of frustration

Started off just laughing at the frogger jokes about European fans trying to walk from NYC to MetLife but like

What do you MEAN the train tickets jumped from $12.90 to $150?

What do you MEAN they locked off the entire parking lot so nobody can drive and park there?

What do you MEAN the American Dream Mall, the only building in the area, is charging $200 per parking space?

What do you MEAN the contract stipulated the NJT would provide free transportation but that FIFA wouldn't have to subsidize those at all?

What do you MEAN the 2018 NJ governor who negotiated that deal was warned about that contract fail and went through with it anyway? (allegedly in pursuit of a job with FIFA?)

What do you MEAN the current governor is hiking public transportation costs in a desperate bid to not force her own taxpayers to subsidize a sporting event they had no choice in hosting?

I know a lot of cities were forced to host when they didn't want to (e.g. the Foxborough, MA lawsuit) because such sporting events cost WAY more to host than they bring in with tourism, but goddamn. What a shitshow

I'm seeing a lot of people say that Qatar and Russia offered free transit to visiting fans but I think having an oil-backed sovereign wealth fund is a huge plus over a country where the federal government is generally doing its level best to screw over public transportation AND blue states like NJ in particular.
