For no particular reason, I have an overwhelming desire to create a band of energy drinks called Ectoplasm.
It would feature such flavors as Ghost Grape, Poltergeist Peach, Spectral Strawberry, Wraith Watermelon, Phantom Fruit Punch, Apparition Apple, Revenant Raspberry, and Haunted Huckleberry.
How to Leverage Concept Design for Strategic Executive Decisions
Prerequisites: • Roles: C-suite executives, founders, directors • Access: Design tools, brand guidelines, stakeholder input • Data: Brand values, mission, audience insights
Validate:
Design Concept aligns with brand identity
Concept Model validates assumptions and reduces risk
Concept Design document is formalized and shared with stakeholders
Steps:
Define Design Concept: Capture the brand’s essence, ensuring alignment with target audience and strategic goals. Focus on elements like shapes, colours, typography, and messaging to create distinction.
Develop Concept Model: Create sketches, diagrams, and prototypes to test ideas and assumptions. Gather feedback to refine solutions before implementation.
Formalize Concept Design Document: Document vision, goals, design elements, and rationale. Share with stakeholders to ensure alignment and guide execution.
Apply Brand Concept Strategy: Translate values, mission, and audience insights into cohesive branding strategies, including logos, colour schemes, typography, and overall visual identity.
Iterate and Optimize: Use storyboarding, prototyping, and user journey mapping to explore ideas systematically and enhance decision-making. A strong Design Concept captures brand essence, creates distinction, and aligns with audience expectations. Concept Models validate assumptions, while a formal Concept Design document ensures stakeholder alignment. Executives using Brand Concept strategies translate values, mission, and audience insights into cohesive visual identity, driving recognition, loyalty, and measurable business outcomes. Branding concept idea 2
I created a second mood board, exploring a slightly different visual language. Although I liked the look of the natural, earthy colour palette from my last mood board, I think this more cool toned, blue/green palette creates more modern, clean and sleek connotations.
In both concepts I looked at icons , which I think could be a nice way of introducing a bit more interest/fun to the visual language. I want my branding to look professional, but still playful and encouraging.
