“Girl Like You” Breaks Top 100
Brandon Steadman’s new single, “Girl Like You”, entered the top 100 of the latest CDX Traction Texas Chart. The CDX Traction Texas chart made its debut in July of this year and has quickly becoming a great tool for measuring a song’s success. “Girl Like You” was released in early August and has seen a steady climb on both the CDX Traction Texas chart and the Texas Regional Radio Report as more stations add the tune.

Nearly a month ago, it began storming on a Tuesday (it’s been doing so in Texas ever since to think of it). The wind began to howl. It began drizzling rain across the Hub. The sun shined in the distance. Rain turned to hail for a brief period. Charlie Stout chased tornadoes a county over.
It looked pretty grim for the fifth of May. Pretty shitty for an album release that was originally planned to utilize both stages–the main indoor and one on the back patio–at 1806 Buddy Holly and have some twenty something songwriters and bands play all day long. It wasn’t in the cards.
Still, in typical Dalton Domino fashion, the rising Lubbock songwriter made the best of it. The weather let up enough. The power stayed on. People flocked. Pinatas busted at the seams with various ping-pong balls. Don’t you threaten me with a good time.
What was billed as Dalton’s Drink de Cinco, really served as Domino and The Front Porch Family Band’s debut album release show with a heavy hitting list of Domino & FPFB contemporaries and friends: Dave Martinez, Austin McManus, Buck Fuffalo, Kody West, Jon Young, Brandon Steadman, Randall King, The Castles, Casey Berry, Parker McCollum, No Dry County, Dix Hat Band, Hunter Hutchinson, Dolly Shine, and Larry Joe Taylor.

Blue Light Spring Singer-Songwriter Competition: Week III Results

The final week of preliminaries is finally in the books. Last night, another round of singer-songwriters took the stage at Blue Light to play in front of a reasonable crowd of fans and their peers. After deliberation, the judges announced that Justin Michael Bell, James Cook, and Brandon Steadman would be advancing to the Finals on Monday, April 20.
