BrArg Week 2020 Day 2: Summer Affair

First of all, this isn’t just some generic romantic pose made to fill the prompt. This comes with official Lore™

Even before the official prompts were released, I had already decided a summer romance was how Agustina and Xavier finally, uh, “got together”. Like… canonly. You know, as Hetalia oc creators we often have to strive for ‘neutrality’ and leave shipping aside so we don’t seem too biased, but this is a relationship that I’m confident enough to say it can happen in their canon timelines. Their dynamic is too strong and their chemistry is too magical to ignore it. If Argentina has to have a romantic interest in this century, it HAS to be Brazil. I am not open to debate. I said what I said 👄.

ANYWAY… as I was saying…

I think this happened somewhere around the ‘90s, perhaps early ‘00s at most. I don’t have a specific year in mind, which is also the reason Tina has a really generic and probably inaccurate bikini lmfao. 

The end of the Cold War and their dictatorships in the ‘80s, as well as the creation of Mercosur, marked the beginning of a new chapter in Agustina and Xavier’s relationship. As I already stated before, they weren’t on bad terms, but they had been rather distant until then. The end of the century and the start of a new era of globalization and regional integration brought them together like never before. They became less militaristic, less competitive and more cooperative.

As a result of working together more often, they also started hanging out frequently… their shared experiences and their newfound maturity helped them warm up to each other, this time, in a heartfelt and sincere way. 

For the record: when they were teenagers in the 19th century, they shared their first kiss together. It wasn’t an act of love but rather juvenile curiosity at the time, so you can see there was an implicit physical attraction between them that got overshadowed by their rivalry. It wasn’t until the late 20th century that they could develop real romantic feelings for each other.

Now, about the drawing itself: Agustina is very openly a fan of Brazilian beaches, so she vacationed there quite a lot. *coughs* Obviously a perfect excuse to see Xavier in lesser clothes. These little moments they shared were the most intimate, because they were purely personal and not work related. They could finally open up to each other and show their real selves. In the process, Tina fell in love with Xavier (and, I want to believe, so did he). 

I imagined them playing in the waves (I just realized the sun doesn't SET IN THE ATLANTIC OH MY GOD LMAO IGNORE THAT FATAL MISTAKE) and the romantic tension was so high that she playfully approached him and kissed him, finally confessing her feelings for him. He reciprocated and kissed her back, and they embraced each other, overwhelmed by a sense of satisfaction and 🥺 happiness and 🥺🥺😭excitement 😭😭😭 I CAN'T CONTINUE Y'ALL I'M GETTING EMOTIONAL. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER. It took them 200 years but THEY’RE IN LOVE 🥺🥺🥺🥺💗💗💗💘💘💘💕💕💕💕💕

Concepto: Flores/Boda

Contexto: Martín y Luciano después de muchos años estando juntos finalmente se casan, rodeados de sus amigos y personas que los apoyan pasan uno de los mejores días de sus vidas. Ambos usando trajes y un velo con flores, y al muy estilo de ellos en vez de lanzar un ramo para ver quiénes serán los próximos en casarse lanzan un balón.
