Celina: Yuya, you're awful quiet, what's up in that tomato head of yours?
Yuya: Trauma, mostly.
Celina: Sylvio, hug him.

I saw a draw meme and had felt like drawing it and it had been sitting for days until I lined it recently and yesterday started coloring Shingo. Probably one of the rare times I don't really draw background in something.

Brashipping for the ask meme
1. My take on their canon relationship:
Honestly their canon interactions left a lot to be desired ;; I wish they'd gotten to talk more...honestly the most I have to go off of with them in canon is the Speaking ED
2. Do I ship them:
Heck yea! it's one of my guilty pleasure ships if only bc lots of people seem to not care for it/consider it
3. Reasons why I do/don’t ship them:
Idk i just think they have a cute dynamic and would make an interesting couple? I'm a sucker for ships involving a serious person and a goofball, they're kinda my weakness
4. Headcanon, if any:
Shingo cried at their wedding and everyone was like "aww how cute he's moved to tears by how beautiful Selena is" but in reality, he'd just caught a glimpse of himself in a mirror
5. How much do I ship (%):
90%! It's one of my low-key OTPs....super low-key....bc im often afraid to talk about it
YGOtober Day 12 - Bonfire
It was a chilly autumn night – perfect for a bonfire. Since his family lived in a mansion, with a lavish backyard that included a fire pit, Sylvio had invited everyone from the Lancers to come to his home for a sort of reunion. Mostly everyone had shown up, save for Reiji, Dennis, and Yuri.
Reiji had a business to run, so it was understandable why he had to decline. Dennis still felt uneasy around Yuzu and her counterparts, especially Ruri, with his past role in the war, so he thought it better for the moment that he not attend, especially with Shun around; thus, he politely declined the invite. Yuri had not been invited at all. He was never a Lancer, and Sylvio never would have invited the sleazebag anyway; however, Yuri’s absence was also at Ruri and Rin’s behest. Yuzu was uncomfortable with the idea of him being there as well, but it was mostly Rin and Ruri who still had no desire to share any sort of space with the boy that kidnapped them during the war.
Aside from those three, everyone else, as well as a couple extras, were now crowded around the large fire pit in the Sawatari backyard. Yuya and Yuzu sat beside each other on a stone bench, the two snuggling together for warmth. Gongenzaka was helping the three kids Crow and Shinji looked after with roasting marshmallows and hotdogs over the open flame while occasionally reprimanding Sora for eating the chocolate for the s’mores.
Despite Rin’s exasperation earlier when Yugo decided to sit in her lap, the two now appeared very cozy as Yugo rested his head on her shoulder with Rin resting her forehead against his. Yuto had chivalrously given up his seat, as well as his jacket, for Ruri, who insisted that he didn’t need to do either of those things but still gave him a grateful smile.
Shun and Kaito were standing a few feet away from the bonfire in the lawn with Crow and Shinji, conversing about something that Sylvio couldn’t make out but assumed they were just catching up. Saya and Allen had also tagged along from the XYZ Dimension and had decided to help prepare the finished goodies that Amanda, Frank, and Tanner were cooking in order to take around and offer to the others.
Other than Sora, the Fusion Dimension also brought Alexis Rhodes and Aster Phoenix, who were sitting in some lawn chairs and enjoying the warmth both the fire and the company were bringing as they sipped on glasses of cider. The final person from Fusion was Serena, who was mostly just keeping to herself as she sat and watched the flames dance around in the stone pit.
Sylvio frowned at the sight of his crush. She was the only one of Yuzu’s counterparts without a boyfriend to keep her warm tonight. Ruri already had Yuto’s jacket, and she had apparently convinced him to share the seat with her, allowing them to cuddle. Yuya’s arms were now wrapped around Yuzu as she leaned her back against him. And Yugo was clearly acting as Rin’s blanket as the two dozed in their chair.
But what of Serena? She had no one. She wasn’t dating anyone. She was here alone, occasionally making small if anyone addressed her. Since that was the case, Sylvio felt it was up to him to be her white knight. Without a second to waste, he slid next to her on the stone bench that she was sitting on, but the female made no indication of even noticing him.
Sylvio sighed as he stole another glance at her. She was absolutely breathtaking. The moon illuminated off her hair, giving it a shine that looked like diamonds were strewn through her tufts, giving her an ambiance that just shimmered all around her. She was dazzling. How he wished she would agree to at least one of his attempts to court her. But he had a feeling. On this chilly night, surrounded by most of their friends, he would finally hear the words he so desperately wanted to hear from her. He knew it. But how should he initiate it this time?
He closed his eyes as a tiny smirk came to his lips. Who was he kidding? He was Sylvio Sawatari! He had this in the bag. He knew precisely how to get her attention. He knew exactly how to make her melt.
The male feigned a yawn, stretching his arms up into the night air, then slowly allowed his right arm to descend toward the girl to pull her close.
“Touch me, and I will throw you into the fire,” she snapped without breaking her gaze from the blaze.
“Yeah,” Sylvio quickly withdrew his arm, instead using it to prop his head up on his knee and whistle awkwardly as he stared in the opposite direction.
A quiet chuckle wafted into his ears, which caused him to turn and see that Sora was grinning at him from his spot by the pit.
“I saw that,” he mouthed as he snuck another chocolate bar.
Sylvio huffed. One of these days she’d stop playing hard-to-get. One of these days she’d finally come around.

Brashshipping?
- the main thing I see is that moment in ed4 when she punches him in her sleep
- nobody understands how the two of them got together, and at this point Shingo isn’t questioning things
- there’s like no impulse control between the two of them
- Shingo was ready to duel Yuri for Serena’s “hand” but Yuri was just ??? bc he hardly knows this girl and Serena clarified that if he was gonna duel anyone for her hand, he would duel Serena
- the only reason Serena gives for liking Shingo is “he makes me laugh” ala Jessica Rabbit
Another short one. Brashshipping for Arc V rarepair week Day 6 Prompt: Wartime.
“You would make a fine warrior, given proper training.”
Shingo turned in surprise. Was that a compliment? From Selena?
“You understand the importance of not showing any weakness to the enemy,” she continued. “You won’t back down from a fight, either.”
“I don’t know so much about ‘not showing any weakness’…it’s more…I’ve just always had to impress everyone, you know? Prove myself. Otherwise, they’ll just…you know, it’s odd. You’re the only person I’ve never felt like I had to impress. Even Yuuya…”
“It’s the same thing, impressing people, proving yourself, not showing weakness. You’ve just never had to use that in a war before. Now you do.”
Shingo didn’t know what to make of that.
“And as for me…I think it’s because it’s the same for me. I, too, have always had to prove myself. Hide my weakness. The reasons, the situation is different, but we’re the same.”
Shingo only nodded. He was surprised by Selena being open like this, but then, he supposed he was more open with her than with others, too.
“It does need refining, though. Your way. You go overboard with the bravado. In doing so, you may reveal things you didn’t intend to the enemy.”
Shingo thought back to earlier, when they had been surrounded by security. It was true, he’d boasted about Action Cards and security had figured out how to use them. He didn’t know how to stop himself when he got into it, though…
“And many will see bravado as weakness, making it pointless as a way to disguise your weaknesses. It was fine in your comfortable life, but you’re in a war now. You’re in my hell. You’ll learn pretty quickly…or you’ll die.”
Shingo gulped a little at her ominous speech, but he supposed she was right. And in a weird way, this was how she showed she cared, right? If she didn’t care, she wouldn’t bother warning him.
“There really doesn’t appear to be any sign of Yuzu,” Selena said. “It’s useless. We’re better off just returning to Yuuya and Reira.”
“We’ll look again tomorrow,” Shingo offered. Selena nodded.
“Right.”
It was so odd, he thought again, that he didn’t feel the need to impress her. But what was even more odd, was that he was starting to think, that maybe in not trying to impress her, that somehow…
…he had.
