Procedure of putting on the headdress from Bratina.
In the begining of the video, she coats the hair with a solution of sugar in water.
The braids are only worn up during work so they’re not in the way. The ribbons with shiny beads tend to be less ornamental for working as well.
The beadless undertape near the end is only folded on the top of the head into a “rose” if it’s long enough. This one isn’t, so it’s only simply draped.
Bratina , slavic traditional wooden bowl for brotherhood and friendship. I carved it from magic honey locust.
Imperial Russian large silver-gilt and shaded cloisonne enamel jeweled bowl (bratina) by Nicholas Alexeev, made in Moscow around 1890
