chilled to the bone || hidenori & kamanosuke
It was night. It was cold. It was freezing cold. Today was a day where two jackets were necessary if one didn't want their internal organs shutting down from freezing. Ironic because it was nearing the holiday where heated passions were celebrated. Those passions were at their peak, skin on skin, chocolate on chocolate, sick corporate advertisement on sick corporate advertisement.
Perhaps it was Hidenori's loneliness that made him bitter, or maybe because he couldn't handle eating sweets. Maybe it was the time some girl sent him a valentines day card only because she was dared to, and that was the only card he's ever received.
Thinking about those things won't get you anywhere. He sighed, his outtake of breath visible. Focus on the future because there's nothing you can change about the past. Plain words to live by.
Of course, his thoughts were interrupted by the feeling of a dangerous looming presence. A shiver went down his spine, and it wasn't due to the cold seeping through his coat. He didn't turn around, knowing that if there was nothing behind him, he would feel worse. This city's police force was shitty, but he hadn't seen anything drastic happen. And he was in a gang (even in name only).
He stopped walking, but still refused to turn around. "I-is anyone there?"
