I learned about this picture book library in Iwaki City, Japan from painter Douglas Florian's blog http://floriancafe.blogspot.com. It is designed by Tadao Ando and displays 1,500 books at any given time. Douglas Florian is a painter that exhibits with BravinLee programs. He is also a well-known children's book author and illustrator. Below the image of the library is one of BravinLee's installations of Florian's works on paper--- Similar feel to the library?
In 2012, as part of my exhibit Space Invaders at Lehman College, Halley Zien made this incredible site-specific piece. On October 16th, 2014 BravinLee programs will open a show of her work. It will include new paintings and one installation . It is not to be missed
