I heard Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese are very different from each other. Is that true and if so, how different from each other are they?

Very true like veeeeeeerrrryyyyyy true a lot of people from Brazil aren't even able to understand European Portuguese freaking vou f'mar um s'garro kkkkkkkkk (/silly)

Basics is that there's a lot of words that are the same with different meanings (think thong american vs australian english) and grammar stuff like how pt-pt uses tu/vós (conjugated on the 2nd person 'tu gostas de queijo') while in Brazil it's você/vocês (conjugated the same as the 3rd person 'você gosta de queijo')* there's also sound differenced in di and ti with european pronouncigg it like in english and brazilian more like dji/chi

Another thing is that portuguese from portugal drops so many vowels... like please put them back

*people do use tu here as well but it has the same conjugation as você and the 3rd person (tu gosta de queijo)

**there's obviously going to be a lot of regional varients but you get the point
