Brazos Falls, Brazos, New Mexico Brazos falls is the highest waterfall in New Mexico. Brazos Falls Creek, a tributary to the Brazos River, descends an amazing 2400 feet in its short 2-mile length. 1300 feet of this is near vertical. This photo was taken in Spring when the snow melt in the mountains increases the amount of water plunging over the cliffs. The water sometimes dries up in Summer or dry spells. After all this is near the high dessert that comprises much of Northern New Mexico, with the exception of alpine zones in the lower Rocky Mountains.
