Love Unites What Hatred Sets Us Apart
Our world has witnessed hatred-induced actions that have caused people to grow apart. Because of the hate trend, we think it’s necessary for us to strike people first with hatred before they do it to us. Hence, we become so eager to look for qualities in others that set us apart from them. We have become so scared of showing affection and love for fear of receiving hatred in return. However, others still believe in the unity that love brings. Despite experiencing the brutalities of hatred firsthand, some people think love is the only cure to it. Bullying, racism, sexism, and other subjects of hate has driven people to seek the different qualities of a person only to destroy them. Why does this happen? This is because of social constructs which have been passed down to us from our ancestors. Apparently, the culture of the past is full of ignorant knowledge, leading us to disregard or hate on things we don’t know. Even if the postmodern knowledge has grown out from some of the conventional teachings of the past, some social stigmas remain. These stigmas commonly relate to culture, sexual orientation, race, health, and even intelligence. It is as if the past culture has taught us to hate people for something they were born with or for the things they cannot change. This irrational hatred has to stop once and for all. We must learn to change our perception toward individual differences and let those social constructs fall apart. There is so much to love than what hatred can offer. Love unites us and encourages kindness to sprout forth even in the polluted soil of hatred. Some define love as something irrational and illogical, yet it is that which acknowledges a person’s uniqueness with kindness and affection. We have to stop the hate trend for when we are divided, hate breeds to extreme forms of it. Love, on the other hand, restores social wounds and connects us all, thereby encouraging lives to blossom in their own accord. So, love and grow without compromising your uniqueness to hatred’s standard. Have you read my article about The Undying Language of Love? Read the full article
