WRITING:

our apt is now set up with mics on everything & individual headphone mixes for all of us. the mics are also running into the computer so we can multi-track ideas live on the spot.

using the headphones really helps us hear everyone’s parts which is super important when you’re writing something new.

we’ve also been experimenting with ableton. dave has had one on one sessions with all of us to explore it’s capabilities. creating new sounds with ableton really changes the way you would approach a specific idea. (erik playing w/ the apc 40)

dave also has hooked his room up with some color changing lights which really sets the vibe up to keep you plugging away in front of a computer screen for hours on end. pushing ourselves into using new sounds and programs we’ve never all used is pretty scary but exciting at the same time. more updates to come in the future!

TouchTunes' Jukebox Battle of the Bands is On

TouchTunes is happy to announce the 2014 Breakout Band Contestant Playlist is now live on all US jukeboxes as of August 7, 2014. 

Indie bands from across the country were asked to submit an original song for their chance to win a single release with Photo Finish Records, $3,000 and a national music promotion on TouchTunes. 

Fans of competing bands will be encouraged to download the TouchTunes mobile app, find locations and blast their favorite band’s music at their favorite local hangout. A panel of music experts, including Matte Galle, Photo Finish Records' President and Senior A&R of Island Def Jam, will evaluate entries based on various criteria including creativity and originality of music and public appeal. The winning band will be announced in late September.
