National Jukebox day seeks to promote and celebrate the jukebox. The original jukebox was a coin-operated musical device that played specific records. Today, there are digital jukeboxes modeled after the classic design. This day acknowledges the importance of the jukebox in bringing music into people’s lives. It encourages playing nostalgic music and appreciating how far the jukebox has come as a musical device. They started national Jukebox Day in 2017 by music corporation TouchTunes. It observed annually on the day before Thanksgiving.

I am posting this from the other end of the pictured queue, and the Purple Rain cover is actually pretty awesome. I chose it out of curiosity going through the explore page.

Shout out to touch tunes for letting me torment racist from the comfort of my own home. There's a number of maga bars around here. I mostly just play rock and country songs with messages that go against their hateful ideology (not that they're paying attention to the lyrics, but I find it entertaining). But there is one I used to really like back before it became a maga hideout. A pool hall that is open all night. So I set an alarm for 3 am every night to interrupt the music flow using touch tune's wonderful fast pass feature to play the entirety of King Crimsons, "Epitaph (including "March For No Reason")" all 8 and a half minutes of it. Anyway I noticed the jukebox has been taken off the map. I'm going to interpret this as they hated my music so much they decided no one gets to play music anymore (unless there's some toggle where only people at the bar can use it).
