Hey, Wild!
Since you've read my Breakthrough AU (shameless plug? Me? Never-) I wanted to ask, what do you think of Valeriane? Do you think she'd fit in with the rest of the villains we already know of or do you think she stands apart from the crowd? Also do you think the other villains would think she's going too far and try to stop her?
Also, in your opinion, where do you think she'd fall on the scale of how dangerous a villain is?
This won't affect the story at all lol I just like asking this kind of thing and I really trust your opinion. I'm super curious!
Hey sis!
(This ask is mostly spoiler-free for Breakthrough, so after you read this post you can go read Breakthrough without any major spoilers! No seriously go read it, it’s awesome.)
Compared to the canon villains, I think Valeriane does stand out quite a bit in multiple ways. For one, she’s not comedic, like at all. The other villains are all funny and dramatic and over-the-top with their schemes, but Valeriane is very calm, collected, and low-key. Whenever the canon villains are up to something I always find myself laughing a little at their antics. When Val is doing anything, all I feel is dread.
That’s another difference: she’s far, far, far more competent than the other villains. The other villains are always defeated at the end of the episode with little to no permanent consequences for the Crew. But Val has kidnapped Martin for SO LONG and with the things she’s done to him WHO KNOWS what kind of lasting consequences that may or may not have on his health. Not to mention the trauma, for Martin and for Chris, and the rest of the Crew.
As for whether I think the other villains would think she’s going too far and try to stop her?
…
No. Not at all. They’d probably be happy that she’s got Martin out of their way and weakened the Crew.
Zach has attempted to murder the Kratts on multiple occasions. In Mystery of the Weird-Looking Walrus, Zach used an instant-freeze device to freeze the water and trap the Bros and all the walruses under the ice. Then there was Creature Power Challenge where Zach attempted to drown the brothers AGAIN, by hacking their suits to turn them into a tarsier and a butterfly - animals that can’t swim - while they were in the water, and then when baby crocodiles were about to eat them, they tried to deactivate, and Zach pressed a button and said “DISRUPT DEACTIVATION!” Then there was Let the Rhinos Roll when he tried to use mind-controlled rhinos to trample the Tortuga to the ground, while the Crew were inside of it. The Tortuga only barely escaped in time to avoid that fate.
Zach absolutely wanted them DEAD and got THIS CLOSE🤏 to successfully murdering them, MULTIPLE TIMES. If Zach knew someone had kidnapped one of the brothers, he would rejoice, he wouldn’t care what she did to them, all he cares is one Wild Rat down, one to go.
Gourmand has also attempted to murder them, like dropping a bunch of rattlesnakes around them in Opossum in my Pocket, trying to cook Martin alive in the Deep Sea special, trying to cannibalize Chris in Platypus Cafe, trapping them in a net and then setting a swarm of African killer bees on them in Honey Seekers, and probably more that I can’t remember. Gourmand wants them dead and does not have the capacity to feel bad for them.
Donita tried to keep Martin as her own personal slave in Flight of the Draco, completely stripping him of dignity and autonomy, which just goes to show how she has absolutely no respect for him as a person nor care for his wellbeing. Also, in the Christmas special, when all the villains took over the Tortuga, Donita was complicit in abandoning the Wild Kratts Crew on a tiny chunk of ice in the middle of the ocean, basically sentencing them to death by drowning when their ice eventually melts, or even if it doesn’t melt, they’d die from dehydration in about 3 days anyway.
All of the 3 main villains have attempted, or at least been complicit in attempting to murder the crew. Usually in pretty horrific ways. So no, I don’t think any of the villains would care what Val does to Martin, or anyone else either.
And where do I think she’d fall on a scale of how dangerous a villain is?
I’d say Val falls in between Donita and Zach. More threatening than Donita in that she is readily willing to physically harm Martin to achieve her goals, but less threatening than Zach in that she has no desire to kill him or anyone else (as far as I can tell).
And thank you! I can’t wait for the next chapter!!
