I love “discovering unknown” wines when I travel. What that means is an utter lack of research, then trying anything and everything I can lay my hands on then buying back and sharing something great. Bream Creek’s 2012 pinot noir was long discovered and award winning before I laid my taste buds on them.
Nonetheless, this pinot noir is a beautiful medium bodied, burgundy hue pour, initial woody, leathery aromas and opens to prunes and raisins. An interesting complex pinot noir from a rather cool climate place that tastes of a blend of your usual cab sauv, shiraz type impact. It’s not burst in your mouth juicy but definitely not dry and high in tannins.
Quite an apt drink to close a year and usher in new opportunities.
