Nursling Over there, a fly buzzed---bad. All ours: the bra, the breast, the breeze. Starlet of the reciprocal gaze. Something about her rhymed like mad. And ours the sigh, the suck, the sing. We forgave everything we could. Ravenous palmist. I’m gone for good. At last I gauged the brash, brash spring. The skin fiend folded like a fawn. Torso Magellan. Time’s own nub. Here at the center of the dimmest bulb. A mouth hovered before latching on.

One of his revolutionary ideas is how to tell a baby is actually drinking. “When a baby is getting milk, you will see a definite pause in the movement of his chin,” he says. “That’s when his mouth is filling up. A baby who is not getting much milk will have a fast sucking pattern without any of these mouth-wide-open pauses. If we could teach all mothers to recognize this and how to get a good latch, it would prevent many problems, and they’d be able to cut through most of the bullshit they are told.”

All the mom karma points to the saleswoman at Saks who saw me struggling to nurse in the women's "lounge" and offered to let me use the dressing room she uses to pump. Lady saved my tuchus today. I am eternally grateful!
