Make sure you have the proper breathing equipment and that it isn't expired.
Check the contents gauge to make sure there is enough gas in the apparatus.
Remove the visible seal and cover that has been put over the valve outlets.
Before using the handwheel to open the valve, make sure the flow selector is set to zero.
Open the valve in an anti-clockwise motion until it stops, then inspect for leaks.
Mark the storage spaces with appropriate signage.
