Considering your height I mean,” The Doctor had already put on his brainy specks and had taken a long and close look at the young woman in front of him. He’d met mutants before, some of them had even travelled with him for a while, but he’d never been close enough to someone with metal on their bones without the threat of being cut to pieces and regenerating so this was a nice change of pace!

“I’m The Doctor by the way. Nice to meet you, what’s your name?”

A scent, one that brings strong memories back to the forefront of his mind.  Things that, honestly, after everything he’d been through, he’d have rather left forgotten.  He doesn’t look at her, no those old and aged eyes remain strained at his forward, while the younger of the two of them stood at his hind.  A chill rolls up his spine and he feels the hair raise up on the back of his neck as his calloused hands clench into tight fists.  For a moment, he takes a deep breath, silence continuing.  He’s not quite ready to face her yet-- Though, the thought occurs to him, maybe he won’t ever be ready-- The old man, though, gives in.  He slowly twists on heel, and his gruff voice uncharacteristically quiet.  “Laura?”
