       during practices the stands were mostly empty, but the games brought out a lot of people. normally clint avoided any crowd like the plague, especially at school events, but soccer games meant watching sharon and he was always in the crowd for her. 

       with the game over he found himself leaning against the door frame of their exit. naturally, he had a cigarette in his mouth to pass the time as he always did at school, but he also had some flowers in his hand just waiting for her to come out.

             𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆       𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐒       𝐅𝐎𝐑       𝐀       𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍.       he      would       never       lose       hope…       especially       for      them.       each       day      had       felt       as      though       steve       was      breaking       through       another       wall       built       up,      slowly       chipping       away       the      pieces.              he       knew       once       he      got       through,       once       he      was       able       to      see       the       light…       it      would       all       be      worth       it.                     it       damn       sure       was      worth       the       wait.             From       that      day       on      he       felt       magnetized       to      her,       pulling       closer,              struggling       to      stay       afloat       when       he      got       too       far.              she       felt       like       home,       when       she      was       around       suddenly       everything       made       sense,       or      at       least       everything       felt       right.                     ❛                                                that’s       not       the      part       I       like       to      remember.              ❜       a      small       smile       perked       at      the       corner       of      his       lips.              an       attempt       at      a       flirtatious       gesture       from       the      soldier.       eyes       always       scanning       hers       to      study       every       reaction.       ❛                                   you’ve       saved       my      ass       more       times       than       I      can       remember,       Sharon.                  ❜              his       voice       is      soft       with       these       words,       a      little      more       serious.
