Yes, of course, it’s always good to have sex if you want to. ;) I just wondered if - precisely because Elio had had heterosexual contacts before - it would have been easier for him to top the first time. “In charge” was, obviously, a bad choice of words, I’m sorry if I offended anyone, my English is not what I’d like it to be. >_< I didn’t mean being submissive or bottoming per se but you know Elio was a nervous mess and he’s never been with a bloke so I thought it would have probably been less overwhelming for him the other way around.

im a little disturbed that somehow bottoming = not...
It makes me sad that I obviously offended you when I really didn’t mean to. ;( I wish I could express myself better. To be clear: I do NOT think that being a bottom = not being in charge, or being submissive = not being in charge. (Who’s in charge anyway, when it comes to true love, aren’t we all just slaves of our feelings... ;))
I just believe that in this special situation (and although I have no proof, to me it feels like Oliver had sex with guys before, both ways...) it was a bit too much for Elio on their first night. There was a point when Elio wanted to stop and almost asked Oliver to and, at least that’s what Elio thinks, Oliver did notice that moment, but I guess both were kind of seized by the heat of the moment... ;)
Having said that, I totally love Oliver and how tender he is and that he cares so deeply about Elio’s well being and that he’s comfortable. I wouldn’t love CMBYN so much if he weren’t. :D

Wait, didn't elio implied he had experiences with boys before, on one of his inner monologues? I swear I read that. Of course not at bottoming, but I feel as he isn't as naive and totally knew how it worked but never tried it, cause those others were not oliver and he didn't felt like giving himself for them, but oliver just overthrew him and left him overwhelmed at the idea that he had become so submissive and placed him so far from his own idea of what a man is.
Elio is no simpleton, he’d know how things work, of course. Still, Elio has never had any sexual experience with boys before Oliver. He said in the book that there was this guy, Maynard, whom he wouldn’t have rejected but it never came to that.

Elio’s sexual crisis wasn’t that bad since it...
Haha, no thanks to Oliver it wasn’t, not really. I think it would have become one if Oliver hadn’t been Oliver, caring so deeply about Elio and knowing him so well that he managed to put the beginnings of this crisis to sleep almost immediately. :)
