FFxivWrite 2021 Prompt 6: Avatar

"Look! Look at what we made at Poppaw’s house!”

Khoda came running up to the sea wolf in her home office as they were getting dropped back off from a stay at the woman’s parents. A giggling two year old followed swiftly behind the young girl while the twins were being passed off to Sana in the living area. Normally she made a point of finishing out an entry when someone wanted her attention in the middle of paperwork, but for the kids the quill always got set back into the well immediately. “Well c’mon then, lemme me see what you made!”

The miqo’te girl set a small tray on the pale woman’s desk, careful not to land directly on the wet ink. “Look! Here’s you and momma!” Khoda pointed out the first two in a line of cookies, made in a vague shape of each person and then decorated with icing and little candies for details like eyes. The more detailed ones certainly looked to have been made by the youth explaining things, stealing a glance ahead definitely revealed that Alvin had been ‘helping’ in the process too. “This is me and Terbie! I know she doesn’t live with  us but we did Mede with Alvin so I wanted her with me too! They’re right here. Poppaw showed us how to do the whole thing, and he only helped a little bit with the stirring and putting things in the oven! He one out of Memaw so we could see. Alvin helped too.”

His help looked to be making the curly hair for the younger set of twins, which included a bunch of squiggles over their face. “And these are the babies! That’s where Alvin helped and.. wait. Where is that one’s tail?”

Almost immediately there was a giggle from the doorway, and a frosting-faced geck’to once again performing his victory dance.
