Wip Wednesday
I’m unabashedly in love with this dynamic. Two snippets from the chapter I’m currently working on for Serpentine 💜

Sylven settled first, preparing a pit of sand and pebbles. He stacked driftwood, almost too decoratively to set it ablaze. With eyes lowered, he whispered the cantrip that had flame emerge from his fingertips, and gently caressed the branches until they crackled with amber glow. Rhyll and Joren ran along the waterline, stopping occasionally to moon the ships gliding past across the glistening waters. Whenever shrieks drifted towards them at the sight of a pair of dusky buttocks beside small tan ones, they roared with laughter. Somehow a drow arsehole was a greater offence than the gesture itself. The delight of profanity levelled the drow and gnome, for once in complete accord.

The sun dried them, lying flat on their backs in a sprawled trinity across the grass. Their crowns were barely touching, but the breeze braided auburn, white and black strands into a slapdash plait. Clouds drifted across the golden sky, like tufts of cotton ripped from a slashed pillow.
Rhyll gestured lazily upwards, the afternoon rays dazzling through his fingers. “That one looks like a rothé’s cock.”
Joren kept his eyes closed, chewing on a blade of grass. “Everything looks like a dick to you.”
Sylven squinted into the bright sky. “… I think it looks like a duck,” he mumbled.
Rhyll slowly turned his head towards him. Joren sighed from his toes as he peered at the half-elf. “Gods, you’re adorable,” he chortled.
He only got a timid smile in reply. Sylven braided his hands above his stomach, his blue eyes lost in the sky for another trembling moment. “It’s getting late,” he said at last. “We better make our return.”

Black Snakes
Zhentarim party, encountered in the forests of Cormanthor.
Straight after WDDH, I picked up DMing another campaign, which was not even mine from the start. See, my friend started a forest-themed campaign, with an Irish folklore flavour, and I was never a part of it actually. But the campaign thinned out, and the players, who are my friends also, continued on drawing and dreaming about their characters, so I figured I could write and DM a finale for them. The first DM generously shared her info, I wrote a whole additional story (I think there’s about 10 sessions of events there), and we started a new season with it. The levels are high, and foreign world overwhelms me at times, but we’re going okay, I believe.
These here bandits are NPCs for the Cormanthor campaign. Having an actual drawing for each minion doesn’t mean they’re important for the story, it means I’m having fun with the process. I believe I’ve never done a drawing of a party like that.
The leader’s name (first one) is Jamal Al-Hasif, nickname Ifrit, and he is my first attempt at doing accents while roleplaying.
